There isn’t a shred of doubt that Jeremy Root is an outgoing “people person” who truly enjoys working with others. It is no surprise that he has amazed clients by overcoming various difficult transactions and following through, helping others achieve their San Diego real estate goals.

After high school graduation, through college, and after graduation, Jeremy Root devoted himself to working in the video production and marketing field by creating Fourth Street Productions. He had the #1 video production business in San Diego and then chose to start his real estate career. With 17+ years of experience in his business, Jeremy is not only a marketing master but has also learned the utmost importance of developing and maintaining client relationships.

 Now, 20 years later, after working with huge corporate companies, independent government agencies, multiple non-profits, and countless local businesses in video production, Jeremy knows his purpose. His passion has carried over from learning video production and marketing into real estate. Jeremy is here to help clients realize their short and long-term goals in their real estate endeavors and provide a means to get them there. He truly cares for others, and it gives him fulfillment to be in people’s lives during what could be a stressful process. Jeremy’s purpose now is to help others because he would want his dad to be proud.

Jeremy Root is following the legacy of his father and grandfather in this business. Now, as a 3rd-generation REALTOR®, the transition into San Diego real estate was only natural. Since getting his license, Jeremy has learned even more about sales, problem-solving, negotiation, and how to provide true value that is beneficial to his clients. Jeremy also has two older brothers who have ties to real estate in Texas and Minnesota.

Sadly, Jeremy lost his father, Richard Root, at a young age, and he will never forget being taught how helping others was the key to both parties becoming successful.

Jeremy Root tells it like it is. His advice is to be aware of the agent you are about to hire. Discount agents will offer a flat fee, but care less about mistakes, like having their finger in the listing photos. Real Estate teams typically care about numbers vs. people because they have a quota to fill. Their goal: Profit before people. Real Estate Team Stats vs. actual true numbers: A lot of San Diego agents pay to play, meaning they give up to 40% to a certain online home search company to get leads and pad their numbers. Shouldn’t that be disclosed? Those agents not only give this online home search company their clients’ data, but, incredibly, they have also PAID to give this online home search company that data. 

On the subject of this online home search company, Jeremy Root, from the first day of his career, has never supported that company. Not because of bitterness or jealousy, but because something about their practices has always felt off. That gut feeling has paid off, as this home search company is being drawn into a lawsuit about their practices, and having agents encouraged and forced to use a lender who didn’t know what they were doing. That is clearly not the best option for consumers. (buyers) In the frenzied seller’s market around 2021, these agents were telling their buyers to pay thousands or tens of thousands over asking, telling them to waive inspections and appraisal contingencies. Those agents did a disservice to their clients and made the mistake of having a self-centered “commission-breath” agenda instead of a true fiduciary duty towards their clients. They should be ashamed of themselves and lose their RE license. 

Those agents who went along with the online home search practices should be nervous. The above-mentioned teams, brokerages, and/or the real estate agent, in large teams, that the majority of them have only this online home search company leads made a massive amount of money using those leads. Good for them, because they are going to need it soon in attorney’s fees. Don’t mess with RESPA! If anything, Jeremy Root feels there should be more transparency in the real estate industry to bring back trust between real estate agents and their clients.
